The group arranged a trip to visit the old Council House and see the Mayors Parlour.
We were greeted by Alan of the Mayoral Team and the tour started in the Reception Room, where we were give a brief history of Derby and then shown the various items that have either been donated or loaned to the city. Then we went into the Council Chambers and finally into the Mayors Parlour.
We were shown the Mace, The Mayors Wand of Office, The Sword and the Mayoral Chains.
This was a very informative visit and everyone learnt something about the history and heritage of the City of Derby. Many thanks to Millie, Alan and the Mayoral Team for arranging this visit.

Since this visit the old council house has been refurbished and it is hoped that the group will be able to see how the building has changed.
